Can a Juicy Doner Kebab Really Fit In To A Healthy Lifestyle?

I often get asked how we managed to consume so many calories in our videos and still stay in shape and more importantly, healthy.

So, let me tell you all about macronutrients. And don’t worry, I will keep this very simple for all our wonderful Halal Hangout subscribers. Every meal is essentially broken down into three components; fats carbs and proteins.

Fats Are used mainly for cell development, such as your brain functioning. You need to make sure your brain works properly, so eat your healthy Fats! Foods such as peanut butter, avocado & Olive Oil all contain healthy fats.

Carbohydrates are your main energy source for your body. So, when you eat things like whole grains fruits and vegetables, these all contain carbohydrates.

Finally, Protein. this is very important for bodybuilders and athletes, in fact it’s important for everyone! If you’re training frequently then it is even more important. The core reason is that protein is used for two main purposes; to protect your immune system and the other main purpose is for tissue regeneration.

So, when you break your tissue down in the gym, you require Protein to help build it back up again and hopefully make it grow!

 

What has this got to do with eating juicy Kebabs?

Go to Google type in “if it fits your macros” to get a better understanding of what I’m about to say here, but essentially (and I’m not advocating you should eat a kebab every day), you could have a kebab or any fast-food you enjoy in moderation and on occasions if it fits your macro nutrient ratio; which is normally about 60% carbohydrates, 30% Protein and 20% Fat. As long on average you stay within that ratio you could certainly fit in some naughty foods now and again!
